Many times you are forced to work with Microsoft Office because your customers and colleagues simply require it, but often there is no good reason for this strict constraint.
It could be perfectly acceptable to edit a document with OpenOffice and then save it in the format that is required or preferred. This way you could guarrantee that even if you release a .doc document, you can allow its editing with OpenOffice too.
To communicate to your customers and colleagues that your document can be rendered and edited without problems also on OpenOffice, you can freely use one of the OpenOffice-compatible images shown in this page and use them as ad-buttons. With that little step you can help improve the office interoperability.
Those ad-buttons are released under the LGPL license.
I am collecting external contributions, alternate artworks and ad-buttons. Also you can contribute to that collection!
